For groups of up to 7 people, you are welcome to order à la carte. If your party consists of eight or more guests, we have curated three special arrangements to ensure everyone enjoys a satisfying meal.

Choose from: sandwiches with soup, sandwiches with soup and a warm snack, or a lunch buffet featuring soup, sandwiches, a warm snack, and salad.

After a long day, Het Wachthuis is the perfect place to unwind. Take a seat, order a nice glass of beer or wine, and let the evening unfold. Of course, no drink is complete without some snacks, and we’ve got plenty of those. You can enjoy drinks until 11:00 PM, so there’s plenty of time for another round.

  • Het Wachthuis is located in the Hotel Corps de Garde at 74 Oude Boteringestraat in Groningen, within walking distance of the Grote Markt.

  • Het Wachthuis is open for breakfast, lunch, and drinks. We are open daily from 07:00 to 23:00.

  • For a cup of coffee or a spontaneous lunch, a reservation is generally not necessary. However, if you are visiting with a group, we kindly request that you inform us in advance so we can ensure everything is prepared for your arrival.

  • Honest, seasonal food with character. Whether you choose breakfast, lunch, or an evening platter, our kitchen utilizes the best ingredients the season has to offer.
